Education and Early Achievements

A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in 2024, Ivan earned his Master of Arts with distinction. The previous year, he was honored with the LSO Conservatoire Scholarship for his postgraduate studies. In 2019, Ivan was awarded a full scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music, where he worked with esteemed clarinetists such as Sonia Sielaff, Christopher Richards, Benjamin Mellefont, Mark Van de Wiel, Laurent Ben Slimane, and Chi-Yu Mo. He graduated with First-Class Honors and was also the recipient of the Regency Award for excellence in his bachelor studies. That same year, Ivan was awarded First Prize at the Buffet-Crampon competition at the Royal Academy of Music, where he was also presented with a piccolo clarinet.

Orchestral and Chamber Music Career

Ivan was selected as a member of Sinfonia Smith Square in London for the 2024-2025 season, where he will perform as part of this prestigious ensemble. Throughout his career, Ivan has had the privilege of performing with renowned orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and several other distinguished professional ensembles. In recognition of his outstanding solo performance, Ivan received a Special Talent diploma at the Bruges Clarinet Festival in 2019. Over the course of his career, he has earned 11 prizes and commendations at various international competitions. In 2022, Ivan was awarded the Drake Calleja Trust Scholarship and made his debut at Wigmore Hall as a chamber musician, performing an arrangement of Mahler’s 4th Symphony. As a chamber musician, he has achieved notable success, including First Prize at the Dolzhikov International Music Competition with his trio in Moscow in 2018, and a Highly Commended award with his trio Hiraeth. In 2024, his trio was selected for a performance tour in France, receiving excellent reviews from the local press. Ivan has also performed widely in the UK, collaborating with a variety of ensembles on a broad range of repertoire.

Since the age of 16, Ivan has been an artist with the Saint-Petersburg House of Music, where he has performed both chamber music and solo concerts in some of the most prestigious concert halls in Russia and internationally. Ivan is deeply grateful for the support he received during his studies from the Countess of Munster Trust, The Hill Foundation, Hattori Foundation, Drake Calleja Trust, Gartow Foundation, and the Royal Academy of Music.
